When I check into a hotel my first task is always to empty my pockets and passports into the hotel safe.   I want to be able to walk out to dinner without worrying about my cash, passport, car rental papers, watch, jewelry, check book, and other valuable documents.   I often wish that hotels safes were larger so that my Nikon camera would fit and to my surprise I recently had a hotel safe that fit my camera.

As a frequent traveler I hear stories about theft and loss of  valuables and of course the question should always be, “why didn’t you place those items in your hotel safe?”

So over the new year we will investigate the thousands of issues and stories surrounding hotels safes.
